Multi-talented entertainer Normani will release her debut album, Dopamine, on Friday, June 14, 2024.
Musically, the road to Normani’s debut LP has been somewhat arduous, yet fulfilling. In 2018, the former Fifth Harmony vocalist released her first string of singles a solo artist — “Love Lies” featuring Khalid and “Waves” featuring 6LACK. Both tracks paved the way for her completely solo track, “Motivation,” a platinum-selling pop anthem that piqued the interest of fans worldwide. However, fans would go on to wait patiently for three singles with Normani as a lead artist over the next five years.
In the midst of her rise as a solo artist, she battled through a number of personal setbacks. Most notably, her parent’s were diagnosed with cancer and the budding pop star put much of her career on hold as she focused on what was most important to her in the long run.
“F—k all of this. This is bigger than the music,” she told Who What Wear‘s Jasmine Fox Suliaman.
“It’s bigger than what I’m trying to accomplish. This is life or death. All I wanted to do was be there for them.”
Despite these beyond challenging times in her life, she has pushed through and returned to the stage and the set of films and television shows.
“I know everything I’ve been through isn’t in vain. There’s always something that God wants me to see in the season,” she explained.
“It’s all in service of making me better for all that he actually has in store for me.”
Now, she’s gearing up for her debut LP and has unleashed a new single called “1:59” with Gunna. Check out the single below and get ready for what Normani has in store this summer.
