From 6LACK to DVSN, R&B has carried much of the conversation in 2020. However, there is something unmatched about a MC that comes prepared to rap that is hard to match. Royce Da 5’9 opened the year with The Allegory, D Smoke delivered Black Habits and Joell Ortiz and KXNG Crooked came to rap on their joint project, H.A.R.D., and guess what? South Carolina’s own Nick Grant came with that very same energy on his latest project, God Bless The Child, with Tae Beast.
In just five tracks, Grant lives up to the hype he has created throughout the first half of 2020. Opening with L.O.V.E., the South Carolina native gets straight to business by referencing the topic of conversation that has dominated much of America for the last month.
“Billy Dee Mahogany/Kill a n*gga while he’s jogging/The world is so toxic/I always feel like they’re watching me,” he raps.
Along the five track journey, the lyricist bumps into BJ The Chicago Kid on “K9.”
“All about this money, f*ck your feelings my dawg/I’m disgusted, n*gga’s rollie’s are out here tickin’ my dawg,” he raps.
Five tracks is all Nick Grant needed to get his point across. Check out his joint project, God Bless The Child, with Tae Beast above.
