We finally got our first look at HBO’s adaptation of the ‘Watchmen’. The dystopian comic book novel was first adapted to film by Zack Snyder and while it had its success, it also received criticism for being a straight carbon-copy of the comic book. HBO has decided to go completely the opposite way. They’ve reimagined the superhero universe and implemented the characters into a new, fresh and more modern plot. Let’s hope it goes the way they want it to.

There is no release date but the TV show is slated for sometime this year, judging by the HBO commercial. Regardless, if you know HBO, you’ll know the streaming service rarely misses on their adaptations. Just look at the recent success of Game of Thrones and Westworld. Not to mention the success of their independent shows. For fans of the Watchmen, know that the franchise is in good hands.
