As announced by Norm Macdonald on his personal Twitter, Netflix has ordered a talk show from the SNL alum. 10 episodes of Norm Macdonald Has a Show have been ordered by Netflix and Macdonald is set to serve as executive producer alongside Lori Jo Hoekstra, Daniel Kellison, and K.P. Anderson.
Macdonald will host with Adam Eget as his sidekick. The pair will interview one celebrity guest per week and, according to Netflix, the show will offer “great and unexpected conversation, jokes and a behind-the-scenes look at Norm’s world.”
The show marks the latest entry in the streaming service’s push into unscripted territory following the likes of David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction and Joel McHale’s The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale. Letterman will also serve as a creative partner on Macdonald’s show.
Macdonald had recently teased the possibility of a talk show on his podcast, Norm Macdonald Live and the news is certain to excite those who have followed him throughout his career. Along with his podcast, Macdonald has been a popular stand-up comic for decades, served as host of “Weekend Update” for three years during his tenure on SNL from 1993 to 1998 and after writing for Roseanne and, more recently, it’s revival.
Norm Has a Show is expected to land on Netflix sometime later in 2018.
