It’s a beautiful time of the year for most places in the world. Winter is over and the flowers are blooming. Summer is around the corner and school is almost a thing of the past. What a better way to celebrate then to sit at home and watch some Netflix.
Without further ado, here is what’s coming to Netflix in May 2019:
The Originals:
She’s Gotta Have It (Season 2)
The artist. The lover. The woman. Who is Nola Darling? From the Academy Award winner Spike Lee, She’s Gotta Have It returns May 24, only on Netflix.
When They See Us (Limited Series)
Based on a true story that gripped the country, When They See Us will chronicle the notorious case of five teenagers of color, labeled the Central Park Five, who were convicted of a rape they did not commit. The four part limited series will focus on the five teenagers from Harlem — Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise. Beginning in the spring of 1989, when the teenagers were first questioned about the incident, the series will span 25 years, highlighting their exoneration in 2002 and the settlement reached with the city of New York in 2014.
Knock Down The House (Documentary)
Netflix’s first political documentary was all the way back in 2015 when it released a documentary on Mitt Romney’s run for the presidency. This documentary which last week premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival looks into the new senator Alexandria Oscasio-Cortez and her unlikely run for the Senate.
