Nelly had remained on the small screen through much of the year. Whether it be his Verzuz with Ludacris or his run on Dancing With The Stars, the St. Louis native has remained visible for the majority of 2020. Most recently, he used his influence from Dancing With The Stars to help raise money for those who could use it.
Nelly has donated ten pairs of shoes from his time on Dancing With The Stars to the nonprofit organization, Teen Project. The shoes are valued at $50,000. In addition, he is set to donate $30,000 of his own money to the organization.
“The mission of the Teen Project is to provide healing and hope to young women who have survived human trafficking and homelessness, many from foster care, by innovating programs focused on drug treatment, psychotherapy, life skills, higher education and mentoring all with a trauma-informed lens,” the organization writes on its website.
This is not the St. Louis native’s first time giving back in this way. Earlier this year, he worked with Vera’s Sanctuary, a rehab facility that supports human trafficking victims who suffer from drug addiction.
