The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without big man Naz Reid after he suffered a fractured wrist that needs surgery to fix. With the 2023 NBA Playoffs coming up, this could effectively end Reid’s season. He suffered the injury during the team’s Wednesday night 107-100 loss to the Phoenix Suns. This is a major setback for a Minnesota team that was attempting to make a late push to make the 2023 NBA Playoffs as the season winds down. Reid has been a vital rotational player this season for the team and will be missed while he is out of the action.

This season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Naz Reid is averaging 11.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. He has paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 53.7 percent and a three-point percentage of 34.6 percent. The Timberwolves would have to go on a very deep run to get their big man back this season and he likely will not return until the start of the 2023-24 NBA season. First, though the team will have to secure a spot in the NBA Playoffs which will likely include a play-in game. Minnesota is currently the nine seed in the Western Conference Standings with an overall record of 39-39. Games will be much harder without Reid in their final regular season games.
