Nearly 30 into his career, Nas is still putting out Album of the Year contenders. Produced by Hit-Boy, the project bridged the gap from the New York of the 1990’s and the New York of today. From collaborations with The Firm to working with Don Toliver, the album told the story of a New York legend who has evolved time after time. This weekend, he added yet another chapter to that story of evolution.
Nas has teamed up with director Jack Bergert to deliver a New York-centric “Spicy” video. Parked outside of the corner store, Nas links up with young New York stars Fivio Foreign and A$AP Ferg for a celebration. The trio brought out the whole neighborhood and it was nothing short of a party as they performed in the heart of the big city.
“Mets hats in the sky like Bobby Shmurda/They watch me like the chip’, courtside at The Rucker/Flow only getting tougher, she beggin’ me to cuff her/Brooklyn Sweet Chick, waffles with raspberry butter,” Nas raps.
“Keep the Tommy near the belly, sincere ’cause I’m hype/Got a ghetto Naomi Campbell, designer with the Nikes/I’m the one talkin’ spice, twelve-year-old killers/With the guns and the knives, better run for your life,” A$AP Ferg adds.
“Spicy” is the perfect visual to end the summer and head into the cold months of fall and winter. Check out the Pyscho Films Production below.
