Memphis Grizzlies Point Guard Ja Morant is facing new gun and assault accusations.
According to previously unreported police records, now obtained by The Washington Post, Morant has been allegedly involved in a number of violent incidents, dating back to last summer.
On Wednesday, the police records obtained by Molly Hensely-Clancy of The Washington Post, show the NBA All-Star was accused of punching and flashing a gun at a 17 – year old boy, as well as threatening a Mall Security Guard.
Following interviews led by Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, it was reported that the teenager said, after being repeatedly punched and knocked to the ground by Morant, Morant went back into his house and “re-emerged with a gun visible in the waistband of his pants and his hand on the weapon.”
According to the police report, the teenage boy also said, “Morant and his friend hit him hard enough to knock him to the ground, resulting in a ‘large knot’ on the side of his head.”
The altercation began during a pickup basketball game at Morant’s house according to the teenage boy’s statement, collected by the police.
During an interview with police, the NBA star told officers that he “swung first” in the mentioned fight with the teenager, but also detailed that he was acting in self-defense because the 17-year-old threw a basketball at his head and motioned toward him.
Prior to the reported assault of the teenage boy, the head of security at a Memphis Mall told police “that Morant threatened him during an altercation in the parking lot, leaving him alarmed enough [to] file a police report.”
After the report came out, Morant tweeted that one of his friends was banned from attending Grizzlies home games for one year.

Morant, a Two-time NBA All – Star, is currently in his fourth season with the Grizzlies.
