Marvel has tapped Michael Waldron to write the script for the forthcoming film, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Waldron is best known as the creator of Marvel’s Loki series on Disney+, but his background takes viewers back a bit further. Throughout the years, he’s contributed to series like Community, Heels and Rick and Morty. On the big screen, IMDb credits him for his contributions to Thor: Love and Thunder and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Not to mention, he’s also tied to Avengers: Secret Wars and an untitled Star Wars project from Kevin Feige.
The plot of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is being kept under wraps, but it is expected to arrive in theaters in 2026. At the moment, the major question regarding the film involves the actor who is expected to play the role of Kang The Conqueror — Jonathan Majors.
In March, Majors was arrested and charged with assaulting a 30-year-old women during a domestic dispute. Immediately afterward, management company Entertainment 360 and public relations firm The Lede Company cut ties with Majors. Despite the allegations levied against him, the actor has denied any and all accusations tied to the charges levied against him. Majors’ trial is set to begin November 29 in New York.
Marvel has not confirmed how it will assess the actor’s future within the franchise.
