
An Antoine Fuqua-directed feature film chronicling the life and career of Michael Jackson will debut in theaters on April 18, 2025.
Production of the film will begin on January 22, 2024. Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar, will portray the internationally renowned hitmaker in the Fuqua-directed feature.
“Michael will bring audiences a riveting and honest portrayal of the brilliant yet complicated man who became the King of Pop,” the film’s synopsis reads.
“The film presents his triumphs and tragedies on an epic, cinematic scale — from his human side and personal struggles to his undeniable creative genius, exemplified by his most iconic performances. As never before, audiences will experience an inside look into one of the most influential, trailblazing artists the world has ever known.”
In front of the camera, additional casting decisions have not been made public. Behind the camera, John Branca and John McClain, the co-executors of Michael Jackson‘s estate, have agreed to produce the film. Graham King of Bohemian Rhapsody and John Logan will take a producing role with the film as well.
