We’re in the homestretch for Avengers: Endgame now as it releases in exactly one month. Marvel is starting to kick their marketing for the film into overdrive as they dropped a whopping 32 character posters for the film on Tuesday.
Marvel has released character posters for nearly every one of their films in the last decade. But, these Endgame posters hit a little closer to home as they feature characters both living and dead (or dusted, if you prefer). Those affected by Thanos’ snap appear in black and white while the still-living characters are shown in full color. Characters that died pre-snap such as Loki and Gamora do get their own posters, but they appear in black and white.
The posters confirm the fates of some key players that were up in the air after Infinity War. Shuri, who was listed as ‘Missing’ in the trailer is sadly confirmed to have been taken by Thanos’ snap as her poster is in black and white. It’s not all bad news though as Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan appear in color on their posters, making them safe for now. Fan-favorites Valkyrie (last seen in Thor: Ragnarok) and the sorcerer Wong also appear in color on their posters.
The tagline ‘Avenge the Fallen’ appears on all posters, hinting that some characters may not come back from the snap. But, without any direct source material to look to for Endgame, every theory is valid. Especially now that the Fox-Disney merger is officially complete.
