Dreamville is never too far away. Despite the pandemic, J.I.D has remained active through appearances on Reason’s New Beginnings and a homecoming performance at Vanderbilt University. More recently, EarthGang earned their first Grammy nod for “Collide” with Tiana Major9 from the Queen & Slim soundtrack. Now, Cozz is throwing his name out there.
Dreamville’s Cozz has hopped on a new track called “Try” with Mark Battles and Keara Alyse. Produced by J. Kuse and Divine, the new track touches on the difficulties of persevering through times.
“God, I know life can’t be perfect but you left my family hurtin’/Need the key to break these curses, I can’t find that in no churches/I’ve been searchin’, shit, I’m trying,” Mark Battles raps.
“Lord, I done prayed for better days that I ain’t seen yet/I only talk to God ’cause He gon’ keep my secrets/Ain’t gon’ lie but plenty times I cry/Before I die, just know that I try,” Cozz adds.
Cozz is posed to return in 2021 after a two-year layoff. Check out “Try” with the Dreamville signee, Mark Battles and Keara Alyse below.
