Sacramento Kings efforts to secure a solid wing player alongside DeMarcus Cousins and the rest of the remaining team has gone unsuccessful to this point.
They struck out on Monta Ellis, who pick the Indiana Pacers, and Wesley Matthews, who picked the Dallas Mavericks. Both players turned down offers from the Kings for more money and it appeared that their attempt to bring in a good veteran wing were all but lost.
Instead, the Kings went with another solid wing player. Not quite offensively skilled as Ellis and not as good on defense as Matthews but Marco Belinelli sure can shoot the ball. He’s actually been one of the best three-point shooters in the league over the last few seasons with the San Antonio Spurs and now he’ll be bringing his talents to Sacramento.

Marco Bellinelli will sign with the Kings for three years, $19 million

Belinelli is a career 39% three-point shooter in his eight year career in the NBA. He had his most successful season in 2014 when he won the three-point shootout during All-Star Weekend. Later in that same year, the San Antonio Spurs went on to win the NBA Championship when they defeated the Miami Heat.
Belinelli will almost certainly be coming off the bench for the Kings as a veteran shooter. He won’t start over Ben McLemore or Rudy Gay but Marco will certainly bring a legit three-point threat off the bench, something they didn’t have in newly traded Nik Stauskas.
