If you’re anything like me, the life you currently enjoy seemed like a distant dream just a few years ago. Before I could pay my rent (that is too damn high, btw) with reviews of the latest 6LACK album and interviews with my favorite boxers, I was down on my luck. To this day, I still remember pouring all of my dirty laundry into a duffle bag and carrying it down the street to laundromat as my landlord emailed me about another complaint and my then-girlfriend blew up my phone because I like another girl’s photo on IG. While my life doesn’t resemble much of that today, I still sit down and reflect on what those days were like when nothing seemed like it would work out. Instead of using my words to describe those days on Houston Street in Silver Spring, Maryland, I can use a track called “Show Me Something” by Malik Moses to do the same job.
In the Malik Moses’ “Show Me Something” video, we find Malik Moses going through it with his girl over something petty as he wonders if things will ever get better. Along the way, Bas comes in the picture by way of a laundromat. While there, we find Bas going through the same exact issues while being tempted by a girl at the laundromat. In the end, things get better, but sometimes you question if they ever will.
Baltimore’s own Malik Moses the first artist to be signed by MixedbyAli’s label NoName. With the likes of MixedbyAli, Bas and more by his side, Malik Moses will be a name to keep your eye on. Check out the “Show Me Something” video below.
