In an interview with Shams Charania for Stadium, Lou Williams has detailed how he nearly ended his professional career in 2017 following a period of job instability. Moving from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Houston Rockets and then the Los Angeles Clippers in a span of six months, Williams was beginning to believe he had reached the height of his career with his 2015 Sixth Man of the Year award.
Instead, Williams remains a fixture for the Clippers and has since won two additional Sixth Man of the Year awards, tying him with Jamal Crawford for the most Sixth Man titles in NBA History.

Lou Williams has experienced a career renaissance since joining the Clippers as a piece in the trade that sent Chris Paul to the Rockets. Serving as a complement to the superstar duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, Williams has been averaging 19.9 points and a career-high 6.3 assists per game, playing a substantial role in the Clippers’ 21-8 record, second place in the Western Conference.
