Capitalizing off of her breakout year in 2019, Lizzo is starting off the new decade with a pair of firsts. Tonight, she took home her first GRAMMY Awards. In addition, she’s taking the stage at GRAMMY Awards for the first time in her career. Kicking off the awards show, she performed “Truth Hurts” with background dancers and her signature flute.
She rapped, “I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that b*tch/Even when I’m crying crazy/Yeah, I got boy problems, that’s the human in me/Bling bling, then I solve ’em, that’s the goddess in me/You coulda had a bad b*tch, non-committal.”

Prior to taking the stage at the STAPLES Center, the GRAMMY winner dedicated her performance to Kobe Bryant. “Tonight is for Kobe,” she announced.
Bryant and his daughter, Gigi, were tragically killed in an untimely helicopter crash earlier today. Alicia Keys and Boyz II Men also paid tribute to the NBA star immediately following Lizzo’s performance.
