
Lizzo is the personification of hard work, persistence and confidence. When she broke onto the national scene in 2019, many of her most popular tracks had been out for months, if not years. Fortunately, the time she spent flying under the radar allowed her to prepare for the spotlight when finally stopped atop her. Over the last three years, she’s toured the world, collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the world and ventured into the world of television. This year, she took things to a new level with the release of her fourth studio album, Special.
Lizzo’s fourth studio album has been in the works for a long time. In fact, some of the music featured on the project was recorded as far back as 2018. In the end, her vision materialized in a project featuring Rick Rubin, Mike Dean and many others. Upon its release, the LP topped the Billboard 200 chart and paved the way for the world tour with Latto.
Tonight, Lizzo brought her world tour to the stage at the Grammy Awards. Backed by a gospel choir, the chart-topping star showcased her vocals as she performed “Special” and “About Damn Time.”
