It’s been a long time coming, but we are finally here. The last time Lil’ Wayne released an album in the Carter series, Steve Jobs was the CEO of Apple, Lebron James hadn’t won an NBA Title and Barack Obama was in his first term as President of the United States. Simply put, it’s been a long time since we received an installment of the Carter series. However, the wait is over.
After enduring a long legal battle with Birdman and Universal Music Group, the New Orleans legend has released the Carter V. Wayne first teased the project a few weeks ago and last week, he released a new song and video with Swizz Beats.
The arrival of this project marks the Young Money President’s twelfth solo studio album. His debut album, Tha Block Is Hot, is set to turn twenty years old next November. It’s safe to say that this project is the beginning of Wayne’s victory lap as a legend who has influenced much of the generation that we see today. Stream the Carter V above and let us know what you think. Does Wayne still have it?
