
On Sunday evening, the XFL’s Las Vegas Vipers coaching staff will look a bit different. Heading into week four, the Las Vegas Vipers have cut ties with their offensive coordinator, Duane Taylor.
Las Vegas is 0-3 through the first three weeks of the season with a point differential of -18. Under Taylor, the Vipers have put up an average of 17.3 points per game. According to The Football Database, Taylor’s offense ranks fifth out of eight teams with 260 yards per game.
This week, the Vipers will play the DC Defenders in Washington, D.C. at Audi Field. The Vipers endured their worst performance of the season thus far when the Defenders came to play Las Vegas on the road. After holding the Defenders scoreless in the first half, D’Eriq King stepped into the game and led the Defenders on an 18-0 run. Under Taylor’s guidance, the Vipers averaged 3.8 points per play for a total of 182 yards and nine first downs.
Without Taylor, the Vipers will look to pick up their first win of the season against the unbeaten DC Defenders at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN.
