Shortly after the free agency period officially began at 11 p.m. central, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey and coach Kevin McHale were in Philadelphia to meet with former Rockets point guard Kyle Lowry.
Lowry is more of a fall-back option for the Rockets with the Raptors considered the favorite, but with the Raptors hoping to lock him up quickly and to meet with Lowry on Tuesday, Morey hoped to make his pitch quickly.
