
Kristen Stewart has joined the cast of A24‘s Love Lies Bleeding. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will explore “the extreme qualities it takes to succeed in the competitive world of bodybuilding.” Within the scope of the film, Stewart will play the “protective lover” of a female bodybuilder.
Rose Glass is set to direct the film and write the script alongside Weronika Tofilska. A24 will handle production duties in tandem with Film4, the feature division of the U.K.’s Channel 4.
In addition to appearing in Love Lies Bleeding, Stewart has also landed a role in Crimes of the Future. Directed by David Cronenberg, the film will star Léa Seydoux and Viggo Mortensen.
“A deep dive into the not-so-distant future in which humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings. This evolution moves humans beyond their natural state and into a metamorphosis, which alters their biological makeup,” the film’s synopsis reads.
At this time, there is no word as to when either film will debut.
