The emerging artist from the Brick City lays it all out in her Saucy Santana-assisted single, “Broke.” As she makes her way through the treacherous, yet rewarding music industry, she’s looking for a man who can match her energy and success, but she keeps running into the same problem. The men who fit her best sexually usually aren’t the men who match her “get the bag” aura. As a result, she’s left asking the same question.
“Broke a** n*gga cant buy me a benz/Broke a** n*gga with your broke a** friends,” she raps.
“You ain’t getting money you ain’t getting no ends. I only showed up for what you got in your pants.”
It’s no surprise that Khadijah is a creative vocalist with hilariously honest lyrics because she comes from a city where every man, woman and child has no problem telling you how they feel — Newark, New Jersey. Coming from the city that made Shakur Stevenson, Michael B. Jordan, Queen Latifah and countless others, Khadijah was driven to be successful from a young age. Inspired by the likes of Lauryn Hill, Doja Cat, Rihanna and other legends, she developed a style that is both seductive, soothing and uniquely hers.
“I’m an artist. When I’m recording in the studio, I free myself of all categorizations or boxes. I do what I want with my instrument and it feels good to my soul,” she said about her style.
