Kendrick Lamar has remained incredibly relevant despite not releasing a new solo project since 2017. In fact, his career may have elevated in the time since he dropped his last project. Lamar has been nominated for Golden Globe Awards and Academy Awards, won a Pulitzer Prize and played a part in one of the most successful films of the last decade. Not to mention, he spent last summer touring the country with the entire T.D.E family. While he doesn’t appear to have any plans to drop a new album this year, Kendrick Lamar is apparently still very hard at work.
During a recent panel for the Red Bull Music Academy, producer Tae Beast brought up Kendrick Lamar’s most recent work habits. He said, “If you make something and somebody hears it, it’s a wrap.” He added, “Kendrick is like the beat hoarder too. He has 97,000 gigs of beats from everybody. [If] it gets to Kendrick’s hands, it probably ain’t never gonna leave.”
If that’s the case, Kendrick Lamar will have a lot to work with when he decides to return to releasing his own projects. In the meantime, you can hear him give a guest verse to 2 Chainz latest project, Rap Or Go To The League.
