Pittsburgh Panthers senior quarterback Kedon Slovis has announced that he will transfer to the BYU Cougars. This will be the third program that Slovis has played for after beginning his career with the USC Trojans and then transferring to the Pittsburgh Panthers and now the BYU Cougars. Slovis has an extra year of eligibility he can use because of the impact Coronavius had on the 2021 college football season. Because he is a graduate transfer he will be immediately eligible to play for BYU next season for his final season in college football.
I will always be grateful for Coach Narduzzi and the time I got to spend with all of my teammates at the University of Pittsburgh.
I’m excited for this new chapter and can’t wait to get to work. #GoCougs pic.twitter.com/yg0Sa4rXP6— Kedon Slovis (@Kedonslovis) December 24, 2022
This past season with the Pittsburgh Panthers, Kedon Slovis completed 184 passes for 2,397 yards, ten touchdowns, and nine interceptions on 315 attempts. The 2023 college football season will be the BYU Cougars’ first season in the Big 12. Slovis will be tasked with leading the program in a Power Five Conference. BYU is looking to make a big splash early in the Big 12 and having a quarterback with Power Five experience could help them. Slovis’ freshman year with the USC Trojans was his best year, but he hasn’t quite played up to that level since that season.
