The Minnesota Timberwolves have one of the brightest futures in the NBA. With 2 of the past 3, #1 overall picks in Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, along with a cast of youthful players such as Zach LaVine, Gorgui Deng, Shabazz Mohammad, and the 5th overall pick in this year’s draft, Kris Dunn, the Wolves are looking to be a threat in the years to come. Karl-Anthony Towns knows that. The 2016 Rookie Of The Year, spoke with Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press about the future of the wolves:

Towns is looking to lead this team to an NBA championship. There’s no doubt in that. Over this year, you have seen maturity that he has gained that shows that he is serious about his career in the NBA and he knows what he’s capable of doing. With a young cast of potential superstars, Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves could be the next young team out of the west. We’ve seen it before. It happened to the Oklahoma City Thunder with Westbrook, Durant and Harden, and it’s happening now with the Warriors and their sharp shooting duo (now trio). Both teams took the approach of building their teams through the draft, rather than trading and signing for their talent. The Timberwolves will be a dominant force in the West, and I think it’ll be sooner than later.
