A roller coaster ride that many of us will not be forgetting any time soon, Jussie Smollett found himself being the talk of February 2019. Sending many in a frenzy over what was initially reported as a racially-charged and homophobic attack on the Empire star, everything was soon flipped upside down as we then learned that the apparent attack was not only fake but allegedly staged by Jussie Smollett himself.
Fast-forward to the singer and actor most recently not pleading guilty to 16 charges holding him responsible for the attack, what may come as the biggest shock is the latest news that Jussie Smollett with not be facing any time behind bars as all the charges have been dropped and his record wiped clean of this situation, according to reports.
In a statement, Mark Geragos, who is a representative for Jussie Smollett, calls this ordeal a “vindictive indictment” and “desperate attempt” to switch the focus from the current internal investigation currently going on against the Chicago Police Department.
Furthermore more, it is still up in the air on if Jussie will return working on Fox’s Empire after being dropped due to reports surrounding the attack.
