
Jussie Smollett was the victim of a vicious attack Monday.
Singer and Empire star Jussie Smollett was hospitalized after being brutally attacked in Chicago. Reported by TMZ, Smollett was victim to a homophobic and racial attack by two men late Monday.
The two men who attacked the singer and actor were both allegedly wearing ski masks during the attack. They reportedly brutally beat Smollett and fractured a rib. They also, placed, “a rope around his neck, poured bleach on him and as they left they yelled, “This is MAGA country.”
The Empire star who was able to take himself to the hospital after the attack was discharged from Northwestern Hospital on Tuesday morning.
ThatGrapeJuice also reported that Smollett received a letter days prior to the attack that read, “You will die black f*g,” suggesting that the attack may have been premeditated. The letter was sent to Fox Studios in Chicago.
Chief Communications Officer Anthony Guglielmi of the Chicago Police Department issued a statement stating that police are diligently investigating the “possible hate crime.”
