Hulu’s Wu-Tang series, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, has been gaining buzz over the last few weeks as it fleshes out its main cast. That continued Tuesday as Julian Elijah Martinez and Dave East joined the series as regulars, with The Sopranos Vinnie Pastore set to recur in a guest role, according to Deadline. The three men join Ashton Sanders, Shamiek Moore, Siddiq Saunderson, and Marcus Callender, who were previously announced to be starring.
Written and created by The RZA and writer Alex Tse, Wu-Tang: An American Saga will tell the story of the Wu-Tang Clan, one of music most influential groups. Set in NYC in the early 90s, the series will explore the unlikely formation and rise of the group. Martinez is set to portray Divine while East will play Shotgun. Pastore will recur as Larry, the owner of a neighborhood rib place.
Brian Grazer is serving as executive producer alongside Francie Calfo and Tse, as well as Wu-Tang members The RZA and Method Man. Other group members, Ghostface Killa, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, and GZA will serve as consulting producers on the series.
