Jrue Holiday joined the New Orleans Pelicans in 2013, but it now appears his time with the franchise is coming to an end. As reported by Marc Stein of The New York Times, Holiday is available to be traded but the asking price by the Pelicans is said to be substantial.
While mired in a 12-game losing streak, New Orleans indeed remains reluctant to trade JJ Redick, according to league sources, on top of the team's two presumed untouchables: Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram

Yet what that also means is Jrue Holiday is indeed available via trade, league sources say. It would surely cost a significant amount to pry him away from the Pels, but this is a notable change in status given how unavailable Holiday was to interested teams last season

As the Pelicans have suffered through a miserable 6-21 record so far this season, the effects of both the injury to superstar rookie Zion Williamson and the departure of Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers have been felt stronger than most would have anticipated.
With Williamson sidelined and Davis gone, Jrue Holiday found himself at the helm of the team, but can barely be blamed for their faltering. In his 25 appearances for the Pelicans this season Holiday has amassed averages of 19.4 points, 6.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game. With this season firmly appearing to be a wash, General Manager David Griffin will most likely be hoping to bolster the roster with talented young players to add to the substantial youth the team already fields.
