As quiet as it’s kept, Joyner Lucas has been hard at work and he’s recently been tapping in with other high-profile acts to give his fans the best product possible. Last year, he delivered the “Falling Slowly” video with Ashanti and it’s only been up from there. This year, he dropped “Ramen & OJ” with Lil’ Baby. Most recently, he tapped in with George Lopez, Mark Wahlberg and Sean “Diddy” Combs for the “Zim Zimma” video. Now, he’s tapping with another legend.
Joyner Lucas has connected with Rick Ross for the “Legendary” video. Things start out in his childhood bedroom thirteen years ago. We find the Massachusetts native talking to a friend about his hopes and dreams as he shows her posters of T.I., Tupac and Eminem hanging in his room. Along the way, he shares archived footage from his come up and raps a verse in front of T.I. Then, Rick Ross comes to wrap things up.
“I done seen a couple niggas lose they life over a dollar/And they hit the hardest when it’s not an outsider/Better keep your money close ’cause that’s the only thing that’s honest/Everybody thuggin’ ’til they gotta face your honor,” he raps.
“You say you own your masters, can you tell me what they worth?/I still be havin’ flashes ’cause it came from doin’ dirt/Fifty restaurants all poppin’ and I still be poppin’ Percs/Get you to support, but then they rob you for your merch.”
