Jonah Hill will take a crack at directing in his directorial debut for the movie ‘Mid90’s’. In what we can expect to be a coming of age film type of film, Jonah follows a 13-year old boy named Stevie and his group of friends as they navigate through all things young boys in the 1990’s Los Angeles would do. Video games, drinking, smoking, skateboarding, looking cool, acting tough, getting into fights and pretty much everything else conceivable in a coming of age movie.
Hill has also written the film which means it will definitely have some humorous moments to what seems to be a generally cool movie. In addition, the film’s stylistic elements are so closely tied into the 1990’s that I wouldn’t be surprised if they recorded this on a video camera with a VCR attached to it. When I think Mid 90’s, I think 1995 because that was the year I was born. I still consider myself a 90’s kid and I will forever act like it. That along with the fact that I’m a huge fan of Jonah Hill will have me walking to the movie theatres on October 18th, 2018 to watch this movie. Every time I think 20 years ago, I think the 1980’s, but now it’s the 90’s, which makes this film super nostalgic for a lot of people in my generation.
