The Indianpolis Colts have hired Jacksonville Jaguars passing game coordinator Jim Bob Cooter to be the team’s next offensive coordinator. He was previously the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions before moving on to the Jacksonville Jagaurs. With a new Head Coach, the Colts are looking to revamp both their offense and defense heading into the 2023-24 NFL season. The current question now for the program is who will be under the center at quarterback next season under the new Cooter offense. Cooter has worked with some talented quarterbacks and could help what will likely be a rookie quarterback next season.

The Indianapolis Colts have had a turbulent few seasons and in the middle of this season that led to the firing of Head Coach Frank Reich. With the Jeff Saturday experiment being a resounding failure, the team will move on with Head Coach Shane Steichen and offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter running the offense next season. The Colts have a top-ten draft pick this year and could trade up, but the ultimate goal will likely be to draft a quarterback with that first-round pick.
Jim Bob Cooter was one of the top candidates for the team after they hired Steichen as their next Head Coach. His experience with Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford, and Trevor Lawrence was likely a leading factor in the decision.
