Jerick McKinnon is listed as questionable heading into Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11. The Kansas City Chiefs running back has been limited in practice while battling a groin injury.
“It’s slim for him to be out there,” Andy Reid told reporters.
McKinnon has played in a career-low 12 games this season while carrying the ball 21 times for a career-low 60 yards. Still, the veteran running back played a integral role in the Chiefs’ offensive attack during Super Bowl LVII, picking up 8.5 yards per carry and five yards per catch.
McKinnon is not the only member of the Chiefs offensive to deal with injuries during the postseason. Two of Kansas City’s offensive linemen, Joe Thuney and Prince Tega Wanogho, will not be able to play. However, Travis Kelce, Clyde Edwards and Rashee Rice will be able to suit up despite fighting through nagging injuries.
With injuries, the Chiefs will take the field as 1.5-point underdogs against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, February 11 at Allegiant Stadium.
