The Portland Trail Blazers finished a trade involving a first-round draft pick but not the one we thought. The team is acquiring forward Jerami Grant in exchange for a first-rounder in 2025, that originally belonged to the Milwaukee Bucks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN. In addition, they will swap second-round draft picks for this year’s Draft and receive a 2025 and a 2026 second-round draft picks.
Detroit has traded Jerami Grant to Portland for 2025 first-round pick via Milwaukee, sources tell ESPN.

Detroit swaps 2022 second-round picks — getting 36 for 46 — with Portland, too. Denver gets a 2025 second-round pick back from Portland, and Portland sends the most favorable 2026 second-round pick between Portland and New Orleans to Detroit, sources said. https://t.co/c8M8TlEgoY

Grant was traded in 2020 by the Nuggets, after one year with the team, and saw very little success in Detroit. The team finished 15th and 14th in the Eastern Conference in his two seasons with the Pistons.
Lillard will have a new partner in Portland to get the team back in the playoffs and a chance for a championship. They also have the no.7 pick in Thursday’s draft so more talent will come to the roster soon.
Grant played in 101 games for Detroit and averaged 20.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 33 minutes per game while shooting 35% from the three-point line.
