However, insiders suggest Springer and Kaplan have been working on the film behind the scenes long before Shakman signed on to direct.
Ian Springer and Jeff Kaplan each have a decade or more of experience in the film industry. Springer’s writing credits include Atom TV, Bert and Arnie’s Guide to Friendship, The Last of the Great Romantics, Disaster Wedding and K-Pop: Lost In America. Meanwhile, Kaplan’s writing credits include Love and Adventure in New York, Bert and Arnie’s Guide to Friendship, The Last of the Great Romantics, Disaster Wedding and K-Pop: Lost In America.
Matt Shakman established a relationship with Marvel prior to earning this role. Last year, he directed nine episodes of WandaVision. He has also directed episodes of Succession, Billions, The Boys, Mad Men, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Game of Thrones. Not to mention, he is leading the latest Star Trek sequel and Apple TV+’s Godzilla series.
The forthcoming Fantastic Four film will kick off the sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on November 8, 2024. Kaplan and Springer’s film will be followed by two Avengers films in Mary 2025 and November 2025.
