The Los Angeles Lakers fired head coach Byron Scott on Sunday night. Part-owner and President Jeanie Buss spoke with Colin Cowherd on “The Herd” and said that not only was she uninvolved in the decision, she didn’t even know about it:
Interesting, Jeanie Buss on @TheHerd about parting ways with Byron Scott: "I did not anticipate that a change like that was coming."

Jeanie Buss on @TheHerd was at a memorial service & had her phone off during Byron Scott news, said she didn't find out till after the fact

The reasoning is understandable, but it’s a bit surprising that she wasn’t given any notice, or consulted on it in any way.
Buss also addressed other issues while on “The Herd,” such as free agency:
Jeanie Buss on @TheHerd admits “it is discouraging” that Lakers have missed out on big name free agents to smaller market teams.

Jeanie Buss (via @TheHerd): "I have no reason to think that he (Jim Buss) cannot be successful in terms of putting together a winning team."

2/3: Jeanie Buss (on @TheHerd): "To me it’s about winning & losing basketball games. That is what I’ve made clear to our front office…

3/3: Jeanie Buss (on @TheHerd) "It’s not about having a marquee star player & coming in last place. That is not what Laker basketball is.”
