Utah Jazz guard Alec Burks has reportedly not required surgery after falling hard on his left shoulder.
Burks was fouled hard by Denver Nuggets guard Aaron Afflalo when going up for a layup in their recent game, that Denver won 103-101. Afflalo was ejected for a flagrant 2 call then later fined $15,000 by the NBA for striking Burks in the head in mid-air.
The Jazz have ruled out Burks indefinitely but after meeting with two specialists in Cleveland and New York, Burks could possibly return in no less then 2 weeks.
With Burks out the rookie from Duke, Rodney Hood has been inserted into the starting lineup.
Burks has been averaging 13.3 points 4.5 rebounds and 3 assists this season. The Utah Jazz will miss his presence dearly.
