A few weeks ago, Utah Jazz guard Alec Burks was injured after a hard foul from Denver Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo.
Burks has missed time here and there since the injury, but it was announced today that Burks will be shelved for the season.

As was reported, Alec Burks was going to have surgery now or in the offseason on his damaged left shoulder. It's bothered him since college.

I know Jazz fans are mad at Arron Afflalo for that hard foul, but I've been told that wasn't what re-aggravated Alec Burks' shoulder injury.

The young Jazz team can now focus on possibly developing their other 2 young guards on the roster in the form of Dante Exum and Rodney Hood. Both were first round picks in the 2014 draft and it may be Hood that gets that starting role in the 2 spot.
Obviously, Rodney Hood and Dante Exum will get extended minutes, but Ian Clark and Patrick Christopher also figure to see more PT.

The Jazz signed Burks to an extension before the season started so luckily for him he’ll have some financial stability and won’t have to worry about signing a deal this offseason. The injury though will be very hurtful to an already hurting Utah Jazz team.
The 10-21 Jazz may now be in full tank mode and ready for another top pick in this upcoming draft in 2015. Now the Jazz actually have to do something with these picks.
