The internet is no stranger to ridiculous debates. On any given day, internet users may debate whether it’s suitable to have a date at Cheesecake Factory, argue about who’s the greatest basketball player ever and go back and forth over $200 dates. Amidst all of these internet discussions, one has made it to the doorstep of Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter.
For a few years, many internet users have asked, “Would you want $500,000 or dinner with Jay-Z?” In a recent conversation with Gayle King of CBS Mornings, the man of the hour settled the debate once and for all.
“You gotta take the money,” he said with a laugh.
“I mean, what am I gonna say? Everything that I’m gonna say — you got all that in the music, what, for $10.99? That’s a bad deal. I wouldn’t tell you to cut a bad deal.”
Jay-Z’s recent sit-down interview with King was in promotion of The Book of Hov exhibit at the Brooklyn Public Library. The free-to-visit exhibit features memorabilia highlighting his illustrious career, including album covers, Grammy Awards, personal photos and much more. The exhibit is set to remain at the library through the end of the year.
