The Fast & Furious family is about get a bit bigger. Over the weekend, The Hollywood Reporter learned that actor Jason Momoa is looking to join the successful film franchise. Details regarding the next film’s plot or Momoa’s exact role still unknown, but the report describes the Aquaman actor as “one of the film’s villains.”
Alongside Mamoa, Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Sung Kan are all expected to return for the franchise’s 10th film. Behind the scenes, director Justin Lin will return to lead the cast. Also, Lin will co-produce the film alongside Diesel. As for the franchise’s former star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, it appears that he will not return. In a recent interview, he called Diesel manipulative and said that there was “no chance” of him coming back.
After a successful release of the last Fast & Furious film in 2021 amid a global pandemic, the 10th movie will hit theaters in May of 2023.
