Kansas Jayhawks forward Jalen Wilson has announced that he is declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft. He will forgo his remaining two years of college eligibility and turn pro after his stellar career with the Jayhawks. While he did debate heading to the NBA in the 2022 NBA Draft, he ultimately decided to return to college. He improved his draft stock this season and even won the 2022-23 Big 12 Player of the Year award. While he accomplished a lot with the Jayhawks, now he will focus on beginning his NBA career. His goal will be to get drafted in the first round this year.

This past season as a junior for the Kansas Jayhawks, Jalen Wilson averaged 20.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.2 asssits per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 43 percent and a three-point percentage of 33.7 percent. Wilson thrived in his role this season as the man guy on the team. The team did not make the second weekend of the 2023 NCAA Tournament this season, but the year before Wilson helped the Jayhawks win the 2022 NCAA Championship.
Jalen Wilson did improve his draft stock this season. While he is not a lock, Wilson should have a shot at being a first round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. His time at Kansas is over, but next season he will be playing pro basketball.
