Jake Paul and his business partner, Joey Levy, have launched their own sports betting imprint, Betr. Levy and Paul’s Betr will be split into a sports content hub and a micro-betting sportsbook. The boxing hopeful will host a weekly sports show while fans have the opportunity to bet on the next pitch, play call, etc. To get fans and bettors going, Betr will launch in all 50 states with a free-to-play platform.
“It’s time to revive the sports landscape with my new company, Betr,” he said.
“At Betr, we have two branches. The first [branch is a] sports media content factory. I’m launching my own weekly sports show called BS with Jake Paul. Stephen A. Smith, Pat McAfee [and] Shannon Sharpe, there’s a new sheriff in town. Surprise, motherf*ckers! The second branch of Betr is [a] sports betting and online casino. I was never really a big sports bettor until I met my co-founder, Joey Levy, who introduced me to micro-betting. What is micro-betting? Our app allows you to bet on every single play, score, drive and player in real time.”
Prior to his latest announcement, Jake Paul found himself in a bit of a never-ending maze. In late June, Jake Paul announced that he would fight Tommy Fury, the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, on August 6, 2022 at Madison Square Garden. Unfortunately, the fight was called off in early July due to Fury’s travel restrictions. Shortly thereafter, Paul challenged heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr. to a fight with a 200-pound limit. Yet again, the fight was canceled due to a dispute over the weight limit for the fight. Adding insult to injury, multi-divisional champion Amanda Serrano and super lightweight contender Brandun Lee were forced to move their undercard fights as well.
Despite recent setbacks, Paul has had a controversial and successful boxing career. The Ohio native has put together a professional record of 5-0 with four knockouts. While his resumé in the sport is shaky, Paul’s marketability, punching power and business savvy earned him a multi-million dollar deal with Showtime.
Beyond his exploits in the ring, Paul has had success as a promoter in the sport of boxing. Earlier his promotional imprint, Most Valuable Promotions, helped put together one of the biggest events in boxing history as Amanda Serrano fought Katie Taylor at Madison Square Garden. More recently, prospect Ashton Sylve signed with Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions. Now, he will venture in to sports betting with Betr.
