So a few weeks ago the Philadelphia 76ers were openly shopping both Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel. If you look at their roster now you can clearly see they didn’t succeed despite Nerlens being in talks to head to Atlanta.
Jahlil Okafor was looking like the most likely out of the two to go, at least Nerlens is solid defensively. Jahlil on the other hand isn’t the best on D. But why am I saying all this? We all know that and it doesn’t matter because the Sixers didn’t get the job done. Lets all forget it happened and look towards the future right?
Wrong! Jahlil Okafor isn’t happy with the Sixers, he clearly feels some type of way and by the looks of things, the 76ers haven’t exactly apologised for it.
As for Jahlil Okafor and Noel still being on the roster, Colangelo clearly didn’t get what he perceived as fair value in trade talks prior to, on and since draft night.
An NBA source said Colangelo “tried like hell to trade Okafor.” As a result, Okafor is “upset and his people are upset.“
Colangelo and the Sixers then turned their attention to Noel, but nothing happened there, either.
This is a tad stroppy by Jahlil. He can’t get upset with stuff like this. It’s unprofessional. He need to realise that this is pure business, they’re trying to grow and as bad as it sounds, trying to ship you off to another team, you can’t take these things personally. You need to take it on the chin and work to say “You’re lucky you didn’t get a deal. Otherwise you would’ve lost out big time.” Take a breath. Don’t take it personal and help the team in any way possible.
