It’s hard to explain how much has changed within the last four years. Lil’ Baby has gone from being one of the fastest stars in the realm of Hip-Hop to becoming one of the best-selling artists in the country. Travis Scott went from being a promising artist from Houston, Texas to releasing Astroworld and earning every brand deal under the sun. Not to mention, artists like Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat went from being relatively unknown acts to being some of the biggest names in music today. Among those artists that have made a major jump within the last few artists is Jack Harlow.
Four years ago, Jack Harlow was a fresh face in the greater Atlanta area music scene. Signed to DJ Drama’s Generation Now, Harlow was gaining buzz with records like “Sundown” and “Dark Knight” along with his mixtape, Loose. Harlow’s talent and work ethic led him to success in early 2020 with the release of “What’s Poppin‘” produced by Jetson Made It. Backed by a Lyrical Lemonade produced visual, Harlow earned his first Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit. In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, Harlow’s star continued to rise due to his comedic personality and collaborations. In the months that followed, the Louisville native dropped his debut album, headlined his own tour and worked with Kanye West. Now, he’s looking to expand his presence into the world of film.
Jack Harlow has reportedly landed a lead role in the upcoming White Men Can’t Jump reboot. The star musician is expected to the play a role that is akin to Billy Hoyle, originally played by Woody Harrelson. At this time, it is unclear who will play the role of Sidney Deane that was originally filled by Wesley Snipes. Reports also indicate that the role of Gloria Clemente is still up for grabs. Behind the scenes, Kenya Barris and Doug Hall are working on the script with Charles Kidd II set as the director.
At this time, it is unclear when the film will debut.
