Parker made his way to two different teams last season after the Milwaukee Bucks opted to let him be a free agent last offseason. The former Duke product signed a 2-year deal with his hometown Chicago Bulls in what was supposed to be a redemption story. Instead, he was removed from the rotation shortly into the regal season. Not too long after, Parker was shipped to Washington as part of a trade for forward Otto Porter. The two sides were reportedly ready to work on a deal for Parker to remain in Washington, but that never materialized.
To say it has been a tumultuous career for Jabari Parker is perhaps an understatement. Two ACL surgeries, not getting another contract from Milwaukee, fizzling out in his hometown of Chicago, and getting traded are certainly not highlights. But he does get another opportunity in Atlanta with Trae Young and the upstart Hawks. The team moved Omari Spellman in a trade to partially open up the power forward spot for Parker.
