Drill sounds have resurfaced and men aren’t the only ones dominating. UK drill star Ivorian doll is here to address all of the rumors.
Directed by Kevin Hudson, the visual is set in a high school, and she surrounds herself with her team and tears apart the rumors thrown at her. Not to mention she throws a few shots at men. The song is produced by T1OTB & DA, staying true to the drill sound.
In an interview with Complex, Ivorian Doll talks about the making of the song.
“Rumours’ is about the false accusations that have been spread about me. It was a great way to speak my truth and get people dancing to it, rather than it being this serious, woe is me moment. Not to sound cliché, but most of us have or will have people calling us out on things or situations that haven’t happened. When I heard the beat for ‘Rumours’, my best friend Demmy said it was time for me to address the accusations.”
The drill empress raps, “They said I fucked #,# and #,#,# / Look me up for all these bodies I dropped / Oh wait, no evidence in that case, no forensic / There was no trace, had the bally up on my face / No face no case”
