As Thanksgiving nears, it’s important to reflect on the number of gifts our favorite artists have offered so far this year. Jazmine Sullivan dropped Heaux Tales, Tyler, The Creator gave the world Call Me If You Get Lost and Dave returned with We’re All Alone In This Together. While there are a number of great projects this year, few are as authentic and emblematic of the area in which the artist is from as Isaiah Rashad’s The House Is Burning.
Over the course of 16 tracks, the Top Dawg Entertainment artist takes listeners on a perfectly constructed ride through his battles with addiction, struggles with depression and evolution as man. Along the way, we hear from Lil’ Uzi Vert, 6lack, SZA and a number of other artists that we know for being rooted in their unique identities. There may be projects better than The House Is Burning n 2021, but there is no album that is more veracious.
Isaiah Rashad’s latest effort paved the way for him to pave the way for others. Across two dozen different cities, the Chattanooga led the Lil’ Sunny’s Awesome Vacation Tour with TDE’s newest artist Ray Vaughn and talented veteran Childish Major. After completing the tour, Isaiah Rashad offered a surprise for his faithful fanbase.
“After a sold out tour and meet and greets full of y’all saying drop this and drop that, how about a few loosies for the people that support me the most?”
