Yvonne Orji has signed a new book deal with Flatiron Books. Orji currently stars on Insecure as lawyer Molly Carter. Flatiron will publish Orji’s faith-based book Bamboozled by Jesus: How God Tricked Me Into the Life of My Dreams (and 20 Lessons I Learned Along the Way).
In the past, Orji has been outspoken about keeping her faith in Hollywood. In the book, Orji re-interprets biblical stories through a modern lens to show how they fit in today’s world. Bamboozled by Jesus looks to be a fresh voice in the realm of faith-based literature, drawing from Orji’s unique life experience. She will look to give 20 life lessons learned from her experience and give advice to young Christian adults looking to find where they fit.
Orji is currently starring in the third season of Insecure on HBO. She also appeared in Night School alongside Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. Orji is also currently in development on a new series, First Gen, based on her family growing up.
Bamboozled By Jesus does not yet have a release date.
