City James is not new to Def Pen. Over the last few months, we’ve caught up to the California artist’s wave. In recent months, “Untitled” and “Baby’s Eyes” have not only caught out attention, but the attention of many. Now, he’s here to deliver another new record called “If I Die” featuring G Yamazawa.
Politically driven, “If I Die” gives the perspective of what it’s like to balance the realities of being Black in America while chasing your dreams. Things are never as simple as just doing what we love, but it’s also about thinking about what legacy we will leave if anything untimely may happen to us.
Once again, City James does what he does best. The rising artist delivers a cinematic perspective from his vantage point.
